TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Three years ago, the talk of Indiana State winning league or national titles would have been met with snickers.

Today, it’s part of the lexicon inside the Sycamores locker room.

Over the last three years, coach Trent Miles has presided over a historic turnaround. The program has bounced back from a 33-game losing streak to produce back-to-back winning seasons.

After nearly making the FCS playoffs last season, players are convinced they can make it to Dallas for this year’s national championship game.

Indiana State opens its season Sept. 1 at Indiana.
