Phillies giving away Hunter Pence bobblehead

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Here’s an instant collector’s item: a Hunter Pence bobblehead in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform.

Despite having traded the two-time All-Star right fielder to San Francisco on July 31, the Phillies will be giving out the Pence dolls to fans attending Tuesday night’s game against Cincinnati.

The bobbleheads were manufactured before the season, so the team is sticking with the promotion rather than waste them. More than 44,000 fans are expected at Citizens Bank Park, which has been sold out nearly every game this season.

Pence quickly became a fan favorite upon his arrival in Philadelphia last July. He was traded to the Giants because the Phillies fell out of contention and wanted to trim payroll.
