BOSTON (AP) — Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said that he expects suspended reliever Alfredo Aceves to join the team when Boston opens a nine-game west coast trip Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels.

Aceves was suspended on Saturday for three games for conduct detrimental to the team.

Valentine said before Monday’s game against Kansas City that he had not spoken to Aceves, but the right-hander was in touch with the team.
