Uptown Village — It was show-off time for special cars on Main Street on Aug. 18. The Uptown Village Association and the Slo Poks car club of Vancouver hosted their first-ever Show and Shine. The event benefitted the Hough Foundation, which supports Hough Elementary School, its students and families. Main Street was barricaded, and nearly 150 cars made the rounds between Fourth Plain and McLoughlin boulevards. There were raffle prizes and awards for the coolest cars. The Slo Poks car club, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is already looking forward to next year.
