Crews in Skamania County are searching for a 60-year-old woman who went missing Saturday while looking for mushrooms.

Gail Wietrick of Trout Lake was last seen Saturday afternoon when she left Little Rock Creek Road about four miles northwest of Mill A in south-central Skamania County, according to a Skamania County Sheriff’s Office bulletin.

Wietrick’s party looked for her throughout the night on Saturday. The group was unable to find her by 3 p.m. Sunday and told the sheriff’s office she was missing, Skamania Undersheriff Dave Cox said.

Around 20 people started looking for Wietrick on Sunday. Fifteen continued to look Monday, Cox said. An additional 35 searchers were requested through the Washington State Department of Emergency Management.

The area is steep and is covered by dense brush, Cox said.

As of Monday night, the woman was still missing.
