Cardiologist leads 5K training program

A cardiologist with the Providence Heart and Vascular Institute is leading the Providence Heart to Start 5K Challenge.

The challenge is a training program designed to prepare participants for the Heart Breaker 5K on Feb. 9 at Liberty High School in Hillsboro.

Dr. James Beckerman will host weekly training runs and walks beginning Tuesday, Dec. 4. The training events will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays at Duniway Park, Southwest Sixth Avenue and Sheridan Street in Portland.
