Art to hit streets in Fruit Valley

The Columbian
Published: December 4, 2012, 4:00pm

Fruit Valley — Another big, bold artwork is headed for the Vancouver streetscape. Following in the footsteps of the Shumway Neighborhood Association and its speed-moderating street mural at 22nd and D streets, the Fruit Valley Neighborhood Association has settled on an appropriately fruity peace sign for the blacktop at the corner of 31st and Unander streets. The symbol will be fashioned out of images of proud local produce — plums, pears, apples — and painted onto the street this coming spring. The city has approved the project, and now the neighborhood is hunting for donated paint, equipment and volunteers. Call Lisa at 360-609-8618 if you’re interested.
