Skelton back at starting QB for Arizona Cardinals

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona’s John Skelton will be back at starting quarterback when the Cardinals play the Seahawks Sunday in Seattle.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt says his decision to replace rookie Ryan Lindley was based on several factors, including the environment the Cardinals will face in Seattle, where the crowd is among the loudest in the NFL and the conditions are likely to be cold and wet.

Skelton says he is taking nothing for granted and just wants to complete more passes than he did when he was benched in favor of Lindley three games ago. Lindley says he understands the decision.

Whisenhunt refused to replace Lindley with Skelton despite the Cardinals’ woeful offensive performance in a 7-6 road loss to the New York Jets last Sunday. Arizona has lost eight in a row.
