Tresnak, Weber State blow out Utah Valley 89-56

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Kyle Tresnak scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Weber State dominated Utah Valley in an 89-56 victory Wednesday night.

Tresnak was 8 of 10 from the field, part of a 55 percent shooting effort for the Wildcats (3-2). Scott Bamforth added 18 points and made all four of Weber State’s 3-pointers, and Frank Otis had 14 points.

Holton Hunsaker and Nick Thompson scored 12 points apiece for the Wolverines (5-5), and Alfonzo Hubbard had 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Wildcats didn’t trail after the opening minutes, going ahead on Gelaun Wheelwright’s layup 5:44 into the game and leading by as many as 35 in the second half.

Weber State was 4 of 8 from behind the arc, improving upon their 43.5 percent 3-point shooting percentage — good for seventh in the nation entering the game. The Wildcats improved to 4-2 all-time against Utah Valley.
