Boys basketball: La Center 65, King’s Way Christian 64

The Wildcats survived a flat third quarter in which they scored just five points to hold off King’s Way for a Trico League road victory.

La Center broke a 61-61 tie late in the fourth quarter, and eventually went up by four on two free throws from Dylan King with seven seconds to play.

Jay Becker made a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer for King’s Way for the final tally.

King had 19 points for La Center, and Levi Van Tol added 12. Connor Wonderly had eight points and eight rebounds.

Becker and Carter Coval each scored 17 for King’s Way, and Kyle Gonzales added 15. Becker also had five assists, while Gonzales added nine rebounds.
