The Clark-Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force stopped three cars Wednesday night on Interstate 205 as part of an investigation into a heroin trafficking organization.

Detectives made the stop around 6 p.m. Wednesday on south I-205 near state Highway 14, according to task force Cmdr. Mike Cooke. Two of the three cars stopped were impounded pending an application for search warrants, Cooke said.

The three drivers were interviewed but not arrested.

“I’m reluctant to provide specific information as this is an ongoing investigation,” he said in an email. “There were a lot of police vehicles involved in the car stops because we had to stop three cars simultaneously, and being a drug investigation, the risks to officers was elevated.”
