Number of newcomers to Clark County up 16 percent in November

The number of people who swapped out-of-town driver’s licenses for ones issued in Clark County grew 16 percent in November compared to the same month 2011, the Washington Department of Licensing reported Wednesday.

There were 916 driver’s licenses exchanged for local ones in November, up from 789 licenses issued in November 2011, but down from the 1,226 handed out this October. In the 11 months ending Nov. 30, 11,950 drivers swapped their licenses for new ones in Clark County, a 3 percent decline from the 12,393 newcomers who exchanged licenses in the same period last year.
