Weber State defeats UC Irvine 65-51

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Kyle Tresnak led the charge for Weber State, scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds and the Wildcats hit 14 of 18 free throws in the second half to beat UC Irvine 65-51 on Saturday night.

Weber State (4-2) didn’t have the greatest shooting night, making 21 of 35 from the free-throw line, was 2 for 12 from beyond the arc and shot only 41.2 percent from the field overall.

Frank Otis scored 13 points and pulled six rebounds for the Wildcats, Scott Bamforth had 11 points including a 7 for 8 performance from the free-throw line and Joel Bolomboy scored only four points but had 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Daman Starring led UC Irvine (4-6) with 15 points and four rebounds. The Anteaters shot 17 3-pointers, making only three.
