Moore, Hartford defeat Fairleigh Dickinson 69-59

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Yolonzo Moore II scored 27 points, including 13 of 14 from the free-throw line, to lead Hartford to a 69-59 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in a nonconference game Sunday.

Moore, a sophomore guard, played the entire 40 minutes and surpassed his previous career high by 10 points.

The Hawks (5-4) trailed 34-30 at halftime and 38-30 early in the second half before scoring the next 18 points. Moore’s 3-pointer gave them a 41-38 lead with 13:47 remaining and they never trailed again.

Taylor Dyson scored the next three baskets for Hartford, one of them a 3-pointer, to make it 48-38.

Moore was perfect on 10 free throws in the final 1:26. He also had eight rebounds and three steals.

Kinu Rochford and Lonnie Robinson scored 13 points apiece for the Knights (4-5), and Rochford also had nine rebounds. Sekou Harris added 11 points.
