SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Rookie running back LaMichael James is set to make his San Francisco 49ers debut.

The second-round pick out of Oregon is active for the first time Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. James is taking the spot of backup Kendall Hunter, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve after hurting his ankle in a loss at St. Louis last week.

Niners wide receiver Mario Manningham is inactive with a shoulder injury as expected, giving first-round pick A.J. Jenkins a spot for only the third time. Veteran running back Brandon Jacobs also is inactive again.

Dolphins safety Jimmy Wilson is on the active roster. He had been listed as questionable with a hip injury earlier in the week.
