EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Former UTEP player Sean Kugler is returning to El Paso to become the Miners’ next coach.

School spokesman Jeff Darby says Kugler will be introduced at a press conference Monday. He replaces Mike Price, who led the Miners for nine seasons and retired last month.

Kugler is the offensive line coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He joined the Steelers in 2010 after coaching offensive line for the Buffalo Bills for two years. He spent four years with the Detroit Lions and one year as the assistant head coach at Boise State.

Kugler played for UTEP from 1984-88. He later coached eight seasons at UTEP.

He follows Price, who reached the Rose Bowl twice at Washington State but lost the job at Alabama after a drinking binge.
