Girls basketball: Union 79, Washougal 33

The Titans’ press gave them control from the start against the visiting Panthers as Union sprinted to a 26-5 lead in the first quarter.

Six players scored in double figures for Union (5-2), led by 16 points from Jessica Chatman. Tessa Vanderpool and Katie Burbank scored 12 points apiece, and Tuileisu Anderson, Kendra Preuninger and Emily Row scored 11 apiece.

Megan Sharp scored 12 for the Class 2A Panthers in the first loss of the season for Washougal (5-1).
