DIX HILLS, N.Y. (AP) — Several hundred mourners have gathered for the funeral of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher near his hometown on Long Island.

The 25-year-old Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend and then himself Dec. 1. He was remembered Wednesday for the accomplishments in his life.

A photo slide show playing on a large screen at the front of the auditorium included the words “In loving memory of” Belcher and Kasandra Perkins, the mother of his 3-month-old daughter.

After a series of pictures of Perkins and baby Zoey came the message, “Keep this little girl in your prayers.”
