Washington State beats Jackson State 52-41

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Brock Motum scored 27 points, DaVonte Lacy added 11 points including three 3-pointers and Washington State beat Jackson State 52-41 on Thursday night.

Washington State (7-4) trailed 36-34 with 12 minutes remaining before the Cougars woke up and went on a 14-0 run. The Tigers would not score again until the 5:15 mark and managed to score only four more points the rest of the way.

Dundrecous Nelson scored 13 points, Christian Williams and Kelsey Howard each added eight points for Jackson State. The Tigers shot just 22 percent from the field, 13 of 57, compared to Washington State, which shot 40 percent for the game, making 20 of 49 shots.

Jackson State (0-7) scored 21 points off 19 Cougar turnovers, keeping the Tigers competitive throughout most of the game, but it had no answer for the inside play of Motum, leading Washington State by outscoring the Tigers 30-14 in the paint.
