Cohen, Davidson defeat UNC Wilmington 77-61

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) — Jake Cohen scored a season-high 21 points and De’Mon Brooks recorded his second double-double this season as Davidson topped UNC Wilmington 77-61 Saturday night for a nonconference victory.

Cohen hit three 3-pointers and was 8 for 8 from the foul line, while Brooks had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Chris Czerapowicz (14 points) and Clint Mann (13) also scored in double figures for the Wildcats (6-4).

Keith Rendleman led the Seahawks (4-6) with 20 points as UNC Wilmington fell to 0-6 on the road.

Brooks snapped a 9-all tie and sparked a 7-0 run with two free throws in the first half, and Davidson rolled from there. Mann scored all 13 of his points in the first half, including nine consecutive in a 3:25 stretch, to lead the Wildcats to a 35-23 halftime edge.

Davidson finished with a 38-27 rebounding edge with 10 players grabbing at least one board.
