A 15-year-old student on Tuesday admitted stealing his father’s combination rifle/shotgun and bringing it to Evergreen High School with plans to sell it to another student.
Wyatt Michael Ball of Vancouver pleaded guilty to possessing a dangerous weapon at school and theft of a firearm.
He will return to court Dec. 31 for sentencing.
Arrested, expelled
The presence of the rifle, with an interchangeable barrel that enables it to also function as a shotgun, prompted the evacuation of the high school Dec. 12 and a premature end to classes. Four other schools were locked down.
Ball was arrested and expelled from school after a teacher found the weapon inside a black nylon case under a table in his classroom and reported it to authorities.
