MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Mario Balotelli has accepted a two-week fine by Manchester City for repeated on-field misbehavior last season and withdrew his appeal against the sanction.
The Italy striker was due to take on City at a Premier League tribunal in London on Wednesday after being handed a fine reported to be 340,000 pounds ($550,000) — or two weeks’ wages.
However, City says in a statement “after amicable talks between the parties, as a sign of respect for Roberto Mancini, the supporters and the club, Mario Balotelli has chosen to accept a two-week fine levied upon him.”
City says “Mario remains available for selection for all forthcoming fixtures.”
Balotelli missed 11 games last season because of suspension.
