NEW YORK (AP) — The Houston Dynamo will host Santos Laguna in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal March 5, with the second leg in Mexico on March 13.
The MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy open at Costa Rica’s Herediano on March 7 under the schedule announced Wednesday. The Galaxy then host the second leg of the total-goals series March 13. The Seattle Sounders start at Mexico’s Tigres on March 6 and are home March 12.
In the remaining series, Guatemala’s Xelaju is home March 6 against Mexico’s Monterrey, then plays at the defending champion March 12.
The last American team to win the title was the Galaxy in 2000.
