AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Freshman Imani McGee-Stafford posted her fourth double-double of the season to lift No. 20 Texas over Cornell 53-40 Thursday in a nonconference matchup.

McGee-Stafford had 20 points and pulled down 12 boards — including seven on the offensive end. Nneka Enemkpali grabbed 11 rebounds and Chassidy Fussell 10 for the Longhorns, who controlled the boards 48-28.

Texas (7-2), coming off a 94-75 loss to Tennessee, held a 22-16 advantage at halftime and led 29-25 5 minutes into the second half. From there, the Longhorns reeled off 13 straight points to jump ahead 42-25.

Both teams shot poorly, with Texas at 33.9 percent (21 of 62) and Cornell (5-5) at 31.8 percent (14 of 44), but the Longhorns outscored the Big Red 28-10 in the paint and turned 19 turnovers into 24 points.

Allyson DiMagno led Cornell with 13 points but the Big Red’s starters shot a combined 11 of 34.
