AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Christian Farmer hit four 3-pointers in the second half and scored a season-high 15 points to help Winthrop to a 74-67 victory over Auburn on Saturday night.

Andre Smith and Derrick Henry both made two free throws in the final 26 seconds after the Eagles (5-5) lost most of a 16-point lead over the final 10 minutes.

Farmer capped a 25-6 second-half run with two straight 3s for Winthrop, which has won three of its last four games.

The Tigers (5-6) then cut a 16-point deficit down to three in the final minute. Frankie Sullivan, who had 22 points, hit a 3-pointer and made two free throws after forcing a turnover on the inbounds pass. Auburn forced another quick turnover after Winthrop crossed midcourt and called timeout.

Allen Payne made it 70-67 on a putback with 32 seconds left before Smith and Henry iced it at the line.
