GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have activated Brian Hoyer as the backup quarterback to starter Ryan Lindley and placed former starter John Skelton on the inactive list for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

The Bears were without right tackle Jonathan Scott with a hamstring injury. Scott was limited in practice on Friday and had been listed as questionable.

As expected, Chicago was without linebacker Brian Urlacher with a hamstring injury and Cardinals wide receiver Early Doucet was out after missing practice all of last week with a concussion.

Hoyer was claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh on Dec. 11., one day after the Cardinals’ 58-0 loss at Seattle.
