Central Michigan beats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 62-45

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Kyle Randall and Blake Hibbitts scored 12 points apiece to lead Central Michigan to a 62-45 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the consolation game of the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational Sunday night.

Both teams shot poorly from the field, with Central Michigan making 33 percent and Arkansas-Pine Bluff hitting 30 percent. But the Chippewas (7-5) owned a 50-34 edge on the boards, led by Oliver Mbaigoto with 13 rebounds and John Simons with 10.

Central Michigan led 34-18 at halftime. The Chippewas made 10 3-pointers with Hibbitts going 4 for 6 from behind the arc to account for all of his points.

Marcel Mosley led the Golden Lions (1-11) with 12 points.

Central Michigan, which lost to Nebraska on Saturday in the first round, led 60-30 with 5:55 to go before Pine Bluff closed on a 15-2 run.
