An earthquake shook homes as far north as Felida and Salmon Creek on Saturday night.
According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the earthquake occurred around 4:25 p.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was located in the Columbia River, just west of Hayden Island.
Ted Lewis, a Salmon Creek resident, said the earthquake shook his house up a bit, but not enough to cause any problems.
“We’ve felt these in the past where they shake the house,” Lewis said. “But it’s not even a rumble, mostly the ground shook and that was it.”
The earthquake registered as a magnitude 2.8 Saturday’s shake is considered a small earthquake, and typically doesn’t cause many problems.There have been no reports of damage in the Vancouver area as of Monday morning.
