OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Brandon Bos had 23 points and 10 rebounds, leading four South Dakota players in double figures, and the Coyotes defeated Nebraska-Omaha 95-72 on Saturday.
South Dakota (6-8, 2-1 Summit) never trailed, led 52-29 at halftime and won on the road for the first time in six tries this season. They had lost 10 straight away from home dating to last season.
Trevor Gruis and Eric Robertson scored 15 points apiece for the Coyotes. Robertson played just 10 minutes, but hit all four of his 3-point attempts. Casey Kaperbauer added 14 points for South Dakota, which plays Monday at No. 25 Kansas State.
Nebraska-Omaha (3-12, 0-3) was led by John Karhoff with 18 points and seven rebounds. Justin Simmons scored 13 points and Alex Phillips added 11 for the Mavericks.
It was the schools’ first meeting in the Summit League, but they were longtime rivals in the North Central Conference.
