Morris, Boston U rout Howard 71-44

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Dom Morris led four players in double figures with 17 points and Boston University handed Howard its fourth straight loss, beating the Bison 71-44 Saturday in a consolation game of the University of Central Florida Holiday Classic.

D.J. Irving had 14 points while Maurice Watson Jr. and Malik Thomas chipped in 11 apiece on 5-of-7 shooting. Thomas, who played just 16 minutes, pulled down seven boards for Boston (6-7), which held a 42-38 rebounding edge.

Boston, which was 15-of-25 shooting in the first half, hit a season-high 56.3 percent (27 of 48) from the field and outscored Howard (3-12) 26-12 in the paint.

Boston opened the game with nine straight points and Morris scored 12 points in the first half as the Terriers took a 40-21 halftime lead. The Terriers, who led throughout, pushed their lead to 29 twice in the second half.

Calvin Thompson scored 19 for Howard.
