Emergency readiness training offered

HAZEL DELL — Clark County Fire District 6 will offer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in February to help residents prepare, respond and react to emergencies and disasters in the area.

The 22-hour, seven-week program will start Feb. 16. Classes will be from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays, with the exception of Saturday classes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 3 and 9 a.m. to noon March 24 to test students’ skills during disaster simulations.

The course costs $30. Participants get a CERT hard hat, gloves, vest and protective eyewear.

Applications are available at www.ccfd6.org and at the District 6 fire station, 8800 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave.
