McNealy’s big 2nd half keys UC Irvine 68-61

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Chris McNealy scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half and UC Irvine came up with a 20-9 run to finish the game for a 68-61 victory over UC Davis on Thursday night.

UC Davis (1-20, 0-9 Big West) had a four-point lead with about six minutes to play before UC Irvine made its charge.

UC Irvine (9-13, 5-4) got 13 points from Daman Starring, 12 points from Michael Wilder and 11 points from Adam Folker, who also had eight rebounds.

Josh Ritchart had four 3-pointers for UC Davis, three in the second half.

He led his team with 14 points. Harrison DuPont and Eddie Miller each scored 11.
