RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Andre Jones scored 17 points and George Valentine turned in a double-double to lead Winthrop over Radford 77-63 on Thursday night, dealing the Highlanders their 19th loss in the last 20 games.

Matt Morgan added 13 points while Valentine scored 11 and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Eagles (10-14, 7-6 Big South Conference), who have now swept the season series against Radford. Winthrop has alternated wins and losses in its past nine games overall.

This one was never really in doubt, as the Eagles opened the game on a 12-4 run and never looked back. They led by 21 points at the break and won despite the Highlanders outscoring them 46-39 in the second half.

Javonte Green scored 18 points to lead the Highlanders (4-21, 1-12), whose only wins against Division I foes came versus Delaware and High Point. They are in last place in the conference.
