ZURICH (AP) — FIFA says it has appointed Caribbean official Horace Burrell to its committee organizing Olympic soccer tournaments, three weeks after he completed a suspension for unethical behavior.

Burrell had lost his long-standing position on FIFA’s disciplinary panel in December, while he served a three-month ban following a widespread investigation into alleged bribery by FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam and vice president Jack Warner.

Burrell had another three-month sanction deferred for a two-year probationary period.

The Jamaican football federation president has told Caribbean media that FIFA punished him for not cooperating with investigators.

Burrell is also vice president of the Jamaican Olympic Association.
