HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a 52-year-old Oregon man on a murder count in the Jan. 26 fatal shooting of his daughter’s ex-boyfriend.

Jeffrey Brian Johnson is accused of killing 22-year-old Ryan Lee Johnson outside a Thriftway grocery store in the town of Aloha, west of Portland.

The two are not related, but Jeffrey Johnson is the grandfather of Ryan Johnson’s 3-year-old son.

The Oregonian reports that Jeffrey Johnson appeared Friday in Washington County Circuit Court with his lawyer, Stephen Houze.
