PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 71-year-old Oregon prison inmate was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison for again trying to hire a hit-man to kill his ex-girlfriend.

An Umatilla County jury found George Ardizzone guilty last month of solicitation of aggravated murder. He had asked a fellow inmate at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla to kill the woman.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/xMgKz1 ) he was in prison on his 2009 conviction in Multnomah County for offering to pay a hit man $15,000 to kidnap and deliver his ex-girlfriend to a parking lot near Portland where he was waiting with a gun and a body bag. He was given a 14-year sentence on that conviction.

Ardizzone also has manslaughter conviction in the 1969 death of a girlfriend in California.
