LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Sparks signed four-time WNBA All-Star Alana Beard to a free-agent contract.
The team announced the deal Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed.
Beard averaged 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in six seasons with Washington before missing the last two seasons with ankle and foot injuries.
Sparks general manager Penny Toler says Beard is healthy and motivated to return to the form that made her an All-Star from 2005-07 and again in 2009.
Beard, a 5-foot-11 guard-forward, is currently playing in Israel with Elitzur Ramla.
