Volunteers needed for park plantings

Volunteers are needed for a series of tree plantings as part of Clark County Environmental Services’ Growing Green Program.

The program is designed to increase native vegetation and tree canopy, enhance wildlife habitat and improve water quality.

Volunteers are needed 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Hockinson Meadows Community Park, 10910 N.E. 172nd Ave.

A second planting will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Hockinson Meadows. Also on Feb. 20, volunteers are needed to plant trees at Mackie Neighborhood Park, on Northeast 130th Avenue off Northeast 99th Street.

Volunteers will be provided with a lunch.
