VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The Clark County sheriff’s office says an inmate who died Friday at the county jail in Vancouver, Wash., had been held for investigation of domestic violence assault.

The 29-year-old man was identified as Marius Asanachescu.

Sgt. Fred Neiman said the county medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.

Neiman said he couldn’t comment on any other details of the death. Sheriff’s detectives are investigating.

The sheriff’s office says fire department medics responded to a report of a man in medical distress. He could not be revived and was declared dead at the jail.
