A Vancouver man made his first appearance Friday on suspicion of firing his gun and then threatening to kill his former girlfriend, which led to a standoff Thursday with police in the Minnehaha area.
Judge Rich Melnick set bail at $250,000 for Bradley D. Kimball, 51, and appointed George Marlton to represent him.
Arraignment was set for Feb. 23.
According to court documents, the situation surfaced when Kimball, in the process of a breakup, called his girlfriend, demanding that she bring back his car. She arrived at Kimball’s home at 4514 N.E. 40th Avenue with her ex-husband.
That’s when Kimball reportedly walked outside the house and fired a shot from a semiautomatic handgun and then allegedly put the gun to his girlfriend’s head, telling her: “I will kill you if you come back,” according to court documents. He allegedly repeated this statement twice.
