FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Aaron Broussard’s layup with 1 second left capped a Seattle rally in the Redhawks’ 100-99 win over Longwood in overtime Saturday.
The Redhawks trailed 99-95 with 16 seconds left and Chad Rasmussen hit a 3 with 13 seconds to go. Longwood’s Tristan Carey then turned it over, and Clarence Trent missed a 3 for Seattle.
Eric Wallace came down with the offensive board and found Broussard, who scored 33 points.
The Redhawks (7-14) trailed 51-32 at halftime and scored 21 points off 14 turnovers for a 54-35 advantage in the second half. Seattle shot 53.5 percent from the field (23 of 43), and outscored Longwood 22-8 in the paint in the second half.
Cervante Burrell added 14 points and 12 assists and Rasmussen had 18 points for Seattle.
Longwood (8-16) was led by Antwan Carter with 27 points and 13 rebounds and Tristan Carey with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
