BALTIMORE (AP) — Brian Benson scored 16 points, and Patrick Konan and Alvin Abreu scored 15 each as New Hampshire rallied for a 66-60 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County in an America East Conference game Sunday.

A 3-pointer by Abreu gave the Wildcats (10-14, 5-8) their first lead of the second half, 32-31 with 14:40 remaining, after the Retrievers (3-22, 2-11) had led 28-24 at halftime.

There were another 10 lead changes in the next 4:49 before a layup by Benson put New Hampshire ahead to stay, 45-44.

The Wildcats led by eight points, 54-46, with 6:19 left, but the Retrievers cut it to 60-58 and had the ball with 1:47 to play. UMBC, however, missed its next four shots, while Konan hit four free throws and Benson two for New Hampshire.

Ryan Cook scored 19 points for UMBC, which defeated New Hampshire 82-76 on Jan. 2 but has lost its last seven games.
