PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — A campus-wide alert for gunfire was issued at Washington State University Sunday afternoon for shooting that turned out to be target practice.

WSU police officer Darren Jones told KOMO Radio in Seattle that the target shooters were in a residential area near campus. No one was hit, but a car window was shattered by a stray bullet a half mile away.

No one was arrested but charges are possible for reckless gunfire.

The Daily Evergreen reports (http://is.gd/dCMXhl ) the shooting took place outside of city limits, north of the Valley Road Playfields. The individuals were shooting in the direction of the play fields.
