Indiana State defeats Illinois State 83-77 in OT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Jake Odum scored 34 points Tuesday night to lead Indiana State past Illinois State 83-77 in overtime.

Odum also had seven rebounds and seven assists for the Sycamores (16-11, 7-9 Missouri Valley). He was 17 of 21 from the free-throw line, though he missed two with 1.9 seconds left in regulation and the score tied at 73.

Myles Walker had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Jordan Printy scored 15 for Indiana State. The Sycamores scored the first six points in overtime, and after the Redbirds trimmed their lead to 79-77, Odum made four free throws to close it out.

Nic Moore led Illinois State (16-11, 8-8) with 16 points. Jackie Carmichael scored 15 and Tyler Brown and Anthony Cousin had 13 points apiece. Cousin’s 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining in regulation made it 73-73.

Neither team led by more than six points in the game.
