KENT, Wash. (AP) — A Kent, Wash., police spokesman says a city officer has shot and wounded a man armed with a knife.

Cmdr. Pat Lowery tells KOMO-TV that officers responded Tuesday night to a disturbance call at a mobile home park.

He says when police arrived, the man retreated into a mobile home. Officers followed him in and the man was shot in the torso during a confrontation.

Lowery says it’s unclear what led to the shooting. The man has been taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His condition was not immediately known.

No officers were hurt.
