State Rep. Jim Moeller will hold a live chat on Columbian.com this Friday, Feb. 17 to discuss the recent legalization of same-sex marriage in Washington.

Moeller, D-Vancouver, co-sponsored the bill and made it one of his top priorities in 2012. The openly gay legislator has tried for years to push through gay rights legislation without success.

He will join us Friday to discuss his victory this year and answer questions from Columbian readers.

The chat will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Visit www.columbian.com/chat to sign up for an email notification or to join the chat on Friday.

Login with Facebook, Twitter, OpenID or MySpace will be required to leave questions or comments, but anyone can watch the action. If you encounter technical problems, please contact our Web Editor, Libby Clark, libby.clark@columbian.com.

Here’s how the chat will work:

Readers who login can send questions and comments from the chat window. Web Editor Libby Clark and Web intern Setareh Alizadeh will moderate the discussion, choosing which questions will go live. They’ll post all of the questions that readers submit unless they aren’t submitted by a real person with a real name, include swear words or are off topic.
