Barbour leads High Point over Radford 71-62

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Nick Barbour scored 24 points, with all his field goals coming from long range, and High Point defeated Radford 71-62 on Tuesday night.

Barbour, who leads the Big South Conference with 19.7 points per game, was 5 of 6 from 3-point range and made 9 of 11 free throws against the Highlanders.

The Panthers (11-16, 7-10) led 48-46 with 6:26 left in the second half and scored eight straight, including back-to-back 3-pointers, to pull away.

High Point was 7 of 15 from 3-point range, including 5 of 7 in the second half. The Panthers shot 56.5 percent from the field in the second half (13 of 23), outscoring Radford 44-36 in the period.

Corey Law and Shay Shine tallied 11 points each and Branimir Mikulic had 10 for the Panthers.

R.J. Price scored 14 points for Radford (5-23, 2-14), and Blake Smith and Javonte Green added 12 each.
