GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — An 18-year-old Oregon woman accused of driving drunk and causing a young man’s death in a car crash has pleaded not guilty to second-degree manslaughter and drunken driving.
A state police report filed in Josephine County Circuit Court alleges Rachel Greentree had a blood alcohol level of .41 percent after the Feb. 4 crash near Murphy in southern Oregon. That’s five times the legal intoxication threshold of .08 percent. A passenger in Greentree’s car, 19-year-old Maxx Christopher of Merlin, was killed.
The Daily Courier reports (http://bit.ly/xXFEMI ) that Greentree’s lawyer, Robert Abel, entered the plea on her behalf at Tuesday’s arraignment.
