EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A woman who says she had a six-year affair with Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon estimates he spent at least $1,500 of taxpayer money on her when she accompanied him on official trips.
Tamara Dutton says she was uncomfortable with the spending and went to officials last October to protect herself after the relationship cooled and others started talking about it.
Dutton told KING-TV (http://is.gd/BsUdu9 ) she’s cooperating with a Washington State Patrol investigation and providing details about trips she took with Reardon in 2007 to Washington, D.C., and 2010 to Chicago.
Investigators also are looking into Reardon’s use of a county cell phone.
Reardon has said he is reserving comment until the State Patrol completes its review. He does tell KING, in these words, “I am innocent of all criminal accusations and am confident I will be fully exonerated.”
