Letter: Vote on CRC is a right as taxpayers

The Columbian
Published: February 15, 2012, 4:00pm

Why is Congresswoman Jamie Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, the only elected official who wants to listen to us? Folks of Clark County will pay through the nose for this new bridge — our federal taxes, our gas taxes, tolls, light rail fares, and sales taxes. Shouldn’t we be able to say whether or not we like or want the project? I won’t accept any attempt to gerrymander a voting district on this bridge.

Herrera Beutler is right to push for a vote on this bridge, by as many people as possible as soon as possible. Those of us in Clark County who are affected the most should have a say in the project.
